§ 7405 Ex Officio Committee Members

Key Takeaways

  • •Certain important leaders in California automatically become part of a special committee in their home county.
  • •This includes big jobs like Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and U.S. Senator from California.
  • •They get the same rights and privileges as other members on the committee.

Example

If the Governor of California lives in Los Angeles County, they automatically become part of a special committee there.

The law says that because the Governor is a big leader, they don’t have to be chosen or voted in—they’re automatically on the committee in their home county.
