§ 7215 Party Member Removal Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're on a committee, you can't join or support another political party while you're a member.
  • •You can't tell people not to vote for your party's candidate.
  • •You can't support or say you like a candidate from another party or someone running against your party's candidate.

Example

Imagine you're on a school's student council for the Blue Team. You can't join the Red Team or tell kids to vote for the Red Team's leader instead of the Blue Team's leader.

If you do that, the Blue Team can kick you off the council because you're not supporting your own team.
