§ 6848 Delegate Alternate Voting Rules

• •If a delegate can't go to the convention, their backup (alternate) takes their place.
• •The backup can do everything the delegate was supposed to do.
• •But if the delegate shows up, the backup can't vote for them.

Imagine your class is voting for a field trip, and your teacher picks you to go to the meeting. But you get sick, so your best friend goes instead.

Your best friend can talk and vote for you at the meeting. But if you show up later, your best friend can't vote for you anymore.
