§ 6442 Write-In Presidential Delegates

• •If someone gets the most write-in votes for President in a primary election, they have to do something special.
• •Within 10 days after the election, they must give a list of their delegates to the Secretary of State.
• •The list must follow the rules in Section 6471.

Imagine you're running for President and lots of people write your name on the ballot in the primary election. You get more write-in votes than anyone else.

You have to make a list of the people who will represent you at your party's big meeting (the national convention). You have to give this list to the Secretary of State within 10 days after the election.
