Key Takeaways

  • •If you ask for a mail-in ballot, they must give you the right one for where you live.
  • •They also have to give you everything you need to vote and send it back, like an envelope with postage already paid.
  • •No one can charge you money for helping you vote by mail.

Example

You ask for a mail-in ballot for an election.

They must send you the correct ballot for your neighborhood, plus an envelope with postage so you can mail it back for free. They can’t ask you to pay for any of this.
