§ 2187 County Voter Registration Reports

Key Takeaways

  • •Counties must tell the state how many voters they have and which parties they prefer.
  • •This info includes voters who pick a party, those who don’t, and those in small or big parties.
  • •The state puts all this info together and shares it with anyone who asks.
  • •Counties send updates before big elections (like for president) and at other set times.

Example

Before a big election, your county counts how many people are registered to vote and which parties they like.

The county sends this info to the state, and the state makes a big list for everyone to see. This helps people know how many voters there are and what parties they support.
