§ 2160 Provisional Ballot Registration

Key Takeaways

  • •If you vote with a provisional ballot, the envelope can also be used to register you to vote.
  • •The envelope must have all the info needed to prove you can vote, like your name and address.
  • •The county must tell the state 15 days before the election if they plan to use these envelopes.

Example

You show up to vote but your name isn’t on the list. You fill out a provisional ballot and put it in an envelope.

That envelope can also count as your voter registration if it has all the right info. The county must tell the state ahead of time if they’re doing this.
