§ 21541 Riverside County Redistricting Commission

• •Riverside County has a group called the Citizens Redistricting Commission.
• •Every 10 years, after the big national count of people (census), this group must change the lines of the areas that each county leader (supervisor) covers.
• •They have to follow the rules in this chapter when they change the lines.

After the 2030 census, the county leaders' areas might have very different numbers of people living in them.

The Citizens Redistricting Commission will look at the new numbers and redraw the lines so each leader's area has a similar number of people. This makes sure everyone's voice is equally heard.
