§ 92477 Bond Call Provisions

Key Takeaways

  • •Bonds can be paid back early, but only if the rules say so.
  • •The people in charge (regents) decide when and how this can happen.
  • •If a bond can be paid early, it must say so right on the bond itself.

Example

Imagine you lend money to a school, and they give you a bond (like an IOU).

The school can pay you back early, but only if they follow the rules they set when they borrowed the money. If the bond doesn’t say they can pay early, they can’t.
