§ 92449 University Project Rental Fees

Key Takeaways

  • •The people in charge (regents) decide how much to charge for using buildings or facilities they built.
  • •They can change the prices whenever they need to.
  • •The money they collect must be enough to pay for running the place, fixing things, and paying back any loans they took to build it.

Example

If a university builds a new dorm and you want to live there, the university decides how much rent you pay.

The rent you pay helps cover the cost of keeping the dorm clean, fixing broken stuff, and paying back the money the university borrowed to build the dorm.

The regents may change rents, charges, and fees from time to time, as conditions warrant. All rents, charges, and fees shall at all times be fixed to yield annual revenue equal to annual operating and maintenance expenses, including repairs and insurance costs and all redemption payments and interest charges and reserve fund requirements on revenue bonds at any time issued and outstanding pursuant to this chapter, as they become due.
