§ 88055 Classified Employee Election Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •If workers vote to change something and most don't say 'yes', they can't ask for another vote right away.
  • •They have to wait at least two years before they can try again.
  • •This rule is for school or district workers who are not teachers (like janitors or bus drivers).

Example

The school bus drivers vote on whether to change their work hours. Only 40% say 'yes'—not enough to win.

Since most didn’t agree, the bus drivers can’t ask for another vote for at least two years.
