§ 87674 Arbitrator Selection Agreement

Key Takeaways

  • •If an employee asks for a hearing, they and the school board must pick a person to decide the problem within 30 days.
  • •Both the employee and the school board must sign a paper saying they agree on who will decide the problem.
  • •Once they agree and sign, the person they picked is in charge of solving the problem.

Example

A teacher is upset because they think they were fired unfairly and asks for a hearing.

The teacher and the school board have 30 days to pick someone to listen to both sides and make a decision. They write it down and sign it, and then that person is the one who will decide if the teacher was fired fairly.
