§ 87413 Employee Seniority Determination Rules

• •If you started working as a regular employee before July 1, 1947, your start date is when you first took a probationary job.
• •If two or more people started on the same day, the boss decides who came first by picking names randomly or using a fair outside company.
• •This rule doesn’t apply if other sections (87415 to 87424) say something different.

Two teachers, John and Sarah, both started working at the same school on June 15, 1946. The school needs to figure out who was hired first for seniority.

Since they started on the same day, the school board will pick names out of a hat or use a fair outside company to decide who is considered hired first.
