§ 87410 Academic Employee Employment Acceptance

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're a part-time teacher or worker at a community college, you have 45 days to say 'yes' to a job offer.
  • •The college will send you the offer by mail to your last known address.
  • •If you don't answer in 45 days, it means you said 'no' to the job.
  • •This rule is for people who aren't full-time employees.

Example

A community college offers a part-time teaching job to someone who taught a class last year.

The college mails the job offer to the teacher's home. If the teacher doesn't reply within 45 days, the college will think they don't want the job and give it to someone else.
