§ 8271 Preschool Services Funding Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Schools must create a special fund called the 'child development fund' to hold all money for preschool programs.
  • •This fund pays for running and maintaining preschool services, and schools must keep track of where the money comes from.
  • •Schools can use different types of money for preschool, like local taxes, school support money, state funds, fees, and federal funds.

Example

A school district receives money from the state for preschool programs and also collects fees from parents.

The school must put all this money into the 'child development fund' and use it only for preschool costs, like paying teachers or buying toys. They also have to keep records of where every dollar came from.
