§ 46203 School Funding Supplement Rule

Key Takeaways

  • •Extra money given to schools must be used to add to what they already have, not replace it.
  • •Schools can't use this money to cut back on other funding they get.
  • •This rule makes sure schools get more money, not just the same amount moved around.

Example

A school gets $100 from the state for books and $50 from this new fund.

The school must use the $50 to buy more books, not to replace the $100 they already get. They can't say, 'We'll use the $50 and keep the $100 for something else.'
