§ 81301 Community College Quitclaim Deeds

Key Takeaways

  • •Community colleges can give away small pieces of land they own to fix property line problems.
  • •They can do this even if they don’t get paid for it.
  • •This helps neighbors when property lines are messy or unclear.

Example

A community college owns a piece of land next to a house. The property lines are confusing, and part of the college’s land is actually being used by the homeowner.

The college can sign a paper to give that small piece of land to the homeowner to fix the property line mix-up, even if the homeowner doesn’t pay for it.
