§ 68072 Student Residency Calculation Rules

• •You still need to live in California for a total of 1 year (time before and after turning 18 combined).

You moved to California when you were 17 and lived there for 6 months. Then you turned 18 and lived there for another 6 months. Now you want to go to college.

You can add the 6 months before you turned 18 and the 6 months after to meet the 1-year rule. So you can pay in-state tuition.
