§ 59044 Deaf School Driver Insurance

Key Takeaways

  • •The California School for the Deaf can buy car insurance for cars used in their driver training classes.
  • •The insurance covers things like accidents, damage to other people's stuff, fire, theft, and other car problems.
  • •It doesn’t matter if the car is owned by the school or by a private person—if it’s used for the class, it can be insured.

Example

A student at the California School for the Deaf is learning to drive in a car owned by their parent. During a lesson, the student accidentally crashes into a fence.

The school’s insurance can help pay for the damage to the fence because the car was being used for the driver training class.
