§ 56327 Pupil Assessment Report Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •School staff must write a report after checking if a student needs extra help in school.
  • •The report must explain why the student might need special help and how they act in class.
  • •It should include health or medical info if it affects the student’s learning.
  • •If a student has a big gap between what they can do and what they achieve, the report must say if they need special help to fix it.

Example

A student named Alex is struggling in school. The teachers notice Alex has trouble reading and often acts frustrated in class.

The school tests Alex and writes a report. The report says Alex might need special reading help because there’s a big gap between what Alex can do and how well they’re reading. It also notes that Alex gets upset during reading time, which affects their learning and friendships. The report includes that Alex’s eyesight is fine, so that’s not the problem.
