§ 49506 Summer Ebt Program Compliance

Key Takeaways

  • •The state must work with social services to help as many kids as possible get food benefits during the summer.
  • •They will share information to make sure this happens.
  • •Schools can give out summer meals in ways that are easiest for families, like grab-and-go.

Example

A family struggles to buy enough food for their kids during summer break.

The state will help them get extra money on a card to buy groceries, and schools can hand out meals in flexible ways, like letting kids take food home instead of eating at school.
