§ 46170 Continuation School Attendance Limits

• •Students in continuation high schools must attend for at least 180 minutes (3 hours) to count as a full day.
• •No student can be credited for more than 15 hours of attendance in a single school week.
• •If there’s a holiday during the week, the maximum allowed attendance hours are reduced proportionally.

A student attends continuation high school for 4 hours on Monday, 3 hours on Tuesday, and 4 hours on Wednesday.

Even though the student attended for a total of 11 hours, they can only be credited for up to 15 hours that week. If there’s a holiday on Thursday, the maximum allowed hours might be less than 15.
