§ 41013 School District Fund Transfers

Key Takeaways

  • •Schools must move money from their main fund to special programs (like centers for kids or handicapped minors) if the law or school leaders say so.
  • •If too much money is moved, the extra must go back to the main fund.
  • •The school boss (Superintendent) can make rules about how to track this money.

Example

A school has a program for kids with disabilities. The school board decides to pay for new equipment using the main school fund.

The school must move the exact amount needed for the equipment from the main fund to the special program’s fund. If they move too much, the extra money goes back to the main fund.
