§ 4004 District Number Change Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If a county has 6 or more school or college districts and the number drops below 6, different rules apply.
  • •If a county has fewer than 6 districts and the number goes up to 6 or more, another set of rules apply.
  • •If the number of districts changes, the people already on the county committee stay until their term ends.

Example

A county has 7 school districts, but one closes, leaving only 5.

Because the number of districts dropped below 6, the county must follow the rules in Section 4001 or 4002 instead of the usual ones.
