§ 4001 Unified District As County Committee

Key Takeaways

  • •If a whole county has only one big school district, that district's leaders also act as the county's school leaders.
  • •This only happens when the entire county is covered by one unified school district.
  • •The law was changed in 1982 to make this rule clear.

Example

Imagine a county where all the schools are run by one big school district. There are no separate smaller districts.

In this case, the people who make decisions for that big school district also make decisions for the whole county's schools.
