§ 35161 School Board Authority Delegation

Key Takeaways

  • •School boards can do what the law says they can do, like make rules for schools.
  • •They can give some of their jobs to school workers, like principals or teachers.
  • •But even if they give a job to someone else, the school board is still in charge if something goes wrong.

Example

The school board tells the principal to make a new rule about homework.

The principal can make the rule, but if the rule causes problems, the school board is still responsible for fixing it.
