§ 24400 Inflation Impact On Benefits

Key Takeaways

  • •The law knows that inflation makes money less valuable over time.
  • •The government wants to check how much inflation affects benefits people get from a plan.
  • •They want to understand how much less those benefits can buy because of inflation.

Example

Imagine you get $100 every month from the government to help buy food.

Over time, prices go up, so $100 buys less food. The law says the government should check how much less food you can buy now compared to before.
