§ 22304 Retirement Plan Administrative Costs

Key Takeaways

  • •The money to run the retirement plan comes from the retirement fund itself.
  • •The plan can't spend more on running costs than the law allows.
  • •The costs are split fairly based on how much money each part of the plan has.

Example

Imagine a school's retirement plan for teachers.

The money to pay the people who manage the plan comes from the teachers' retirement savings. If the plan has three parts (like different savings accounts), the costs to run the plan are split based on how much money is in each part. They can't spend more than the law says they can.
