§ 21200 Court Determination In Proceedings

Key Takeaways

  • •The court looks at all the facts and laws related to the case during the hearing.
  • •The court checks if the notice about the case was given the right way and on time.
  • •The court makes decisions based on what is presented in the petition, the answer, and the evidence.

Example

If someone files a petition to change their name, the court will check if they told everyone they needed to tell about the name change.

The court makes sure the person followed the rules, like telling their family or putting a notice in the newspaper. If they didn’t, the court might say no to the name change.
