§ 19514 District Trustee Appointments

Key Takeaways

  • •If a district election doesn't happen, the county leaders pick the people who were nominated to be trustees.
  • •If no one was nominated, the county leaders can choose any voter from the district to be a trustee.
  • •The people picked by the county leaders have the same job and rules as if they were elected.

Example

Imagine your local school district was supposed to have an election for new board members, but it got canceled.

If some people had already signed up to run, the county leaders would just pick those people to be on the board. If no one signed up, the county leaders could pick any voter from the school district to do the job instead.
