§ 18916 Board Meeting Quorum

• •Most of the board members must be present to make decisions.
• •If not enough members are there, they can't do official business.
• •This rule helps make sure big decisions aren't made by just a few people.

A school board is voting on whether to build a new playground.

If only 2 out of 5 board members show up, they can't vote because they don't have enough people (a majority). They need at least 3 members to make it official.
