§ 17500 Large School District Exemption

• •This rule does not apply to very big school districts.
• •A 'very big' school district is one with more than 250,000 students on average each day.
• •Smaller school districts must follow this rule, but the big ones don’t have to.

A school district like Los Angeles Unified has over 250,000 students.

Because it’s so big, this rule doesn’t apply to them. But a smaller school district, like one in a small town, must follow the rule.
