Key Takeaways

  • •If a government group wants to buy or rent land from a school, they must first check if there's enough nearby public land for parks, playgrounds, or outdoor fun.
  • •They need a big vote (two-thirds of the group) to agree that there isn't enough land for these things.
  • •This rule is to make sure kids and the community have enough space to play and enjoy outside.

Example

Before they can buy it, the city must check if there are enough parks and playgrounds nearby. If they decide there aren't enough, two-thirds of the city leaders must agree before they can buy the field.
