§ 17451 Lease Agreement Bidding Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •Before you can lease or lease-to-buy something, you have to follow the rules for bids and contracts.
  • •Every contract must show two prices: the total price if you buy it outright and the total cost if you lease it for the whole time.
  • •This rule is for government or official contracts, not for regular people renting a car or apartment.

Example

A school wants to lease new computers for 5 years.

The school must follow the bidding rules and the contract must show two prices: the total cost to buy all the computers now and the total cost to lease them for 5 years.
