§ 17385 School District Property Conveyances

• •School boards must accept ownership of any property bought or given to the school district.
• •School boards must also handle the sale of any property that belongs to the school district.
• •All property transactions must be done in the name of the school district, not individual people.

A school district buys a new building for a school.

The school board must officially accept the building as belonging to the school district. If the district later sells the building, the school board must handle the sale in the district's name.
