§ 28106 Licensee Record Confidentiality Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If the boss lets someone check or copy records about a company or its workers, the same privacy rules still apply to those records.
  • •The privacy rules don’t change just because someone else gets to see the records.
  • •This applies to companies, their workers, and even government agencies.

Example

A bank lets a government agency check its employee records to make sure everything is legal.

Even though the government sees the records, the bank still has to follow the same privacy rules to protect those records. They can’t just share them with anyone else.
