§ 8305 Incomplete Instruction Completion

• •An incomplete instruction can be completed by anyone, and the original sender can rely on that completion.
• •The person who starts the instruction only has the obligations in Section 8108 unless they specifically agree to additional duties.
• •The rule applies even if the completed instruction is done incorrectly.

A company sends a payment order that is missing a required field. An employee fills in the missing field and sends the completed order to the bank.

Because the original order was incomplete, the employee was allowed to finish it, and the company can rely on the completed order even if the employee made a mistake in filling it out.
