§ 10301 Lease Contract Enforcement

This law says that a lease agreement is valid and must be followed by the people who signed it, and even by others who might buy the leased item or owe money to the people in the lease.

Key Takeaways

  • •A lease agreement is like a promise that must be kept.
  • •The rules in the lease apply to the people who signed it.
  • •Even if someone else buys the leased item, they might have to follow the lease rules too.

Example

You rent a car from a company and sign a lease agreement.

If you don't follow the rules in the lease, like returning the car on time, the company can make you follow the agreement. Even if you sell the car to someone else, they might still have to follow the lease rules.
