§ 2715 Seller Breach Damages

Key Takeaways

  • •If a seller breaks a deal, the buyer can get money back for extra costs like checking, moving, or storing the bad stuff they got.
  • •The buyer can also get money for bigger problems caused by the seller’s mistake, like losing business or getting hurt, if the seller knew about those needs.
  • •The seller has to pay for injuries or damage to things if their bad product caused it.

Example

You buy a broken fridge from a store, and it ruins all your food.

The store has to pay you back for the spoiled food and the cost of getting rid of the broken fridge. If the fridge also shocked you because it was faulty, the store has to pay for your doctor bill too.
