§ 10521 Lease Goods Remedies

This law says a court can force someone to follow through on a deal if the item is one-of-a-kind or special. It also gives renters a way to get their stuff back if the owner won't give it to them.

Key Takeaways

  • •If something is unique or special, a court can make someone follow through on a deal.
  • •If you rent something and the owner won't give it back, you can ask the court for help.
  • •The court can also decide on things like paying rent or damages if needed.

Example

You rent a special, custom-made guitar for a concert, but the owner refuses to give it to you.

The court can order the owner to give you the guitar because it's unique and you need it for your concert. If they still won't give it back, you can ask the court to help you get it.
