§ 1230 Revocation Power Execution Timing

This law says if someone has the right to cancel a decision but can't do it right away, it gets canceled as soon as they're allowed to do it.

Key Takeaways

  • •If you have the right to cancel something but can’t do it immediately, it gets canceled automatically when you’re allowed to.
  • •You don’t have to do anything extra—it happens on its own when the time is right.
  • •This rule is from a very old law (1872), but it still applies today.

Example

Imagine you give your friend permission to use your bike, but you say they can only cancel this permission after a week. If they try to cancel it on day 3, it doesn’t work. But on day 7, it automatically gets canceled because that’s when they’re allowed to do it.

The cancellation happens as soon as they’re allowed to do it, even if they don’t actually say or do anything.
