§ 8638 Contract Price Compliance Enforcement

Key Takeaways

  • •If a company agrees to do a job for a certain price, they must stick to that price.
  • •If the company doesn't finish the job or tries to charge more, they can get in trouble.
  • •This rule applies to any changes made to the original agreement too.

Example

You hire a company to fix your roof for $5,000. They start the job but then say they need $7,000 to finish.

The company can't just change the price like that. If they do, they can be punished because they didn't stick to the agreed price.
