§ 5662 License Suspension Proceedings

Key Takeaways

  • •If the government wants to take away your license (like for driving or work), they have to follow special rules to do it fairly.
  • •The people in charge (the board) have the power to make decisions about your license, but they must follow the rules in another part of the law.
  • •The rules make sure you get a chance to tell your side of the story before they take your license away.

Example

If you get too many speeding tickets and the DMV wants to take away your driver's license.

The DMV can't just take your license—they have to follow the rules, like giving you a hearing where you can explain why you should keep it.
