§ 5482 Display Removal Fines

Key Takeaways

  • •If you own a sign or ad that breaks the rules, the government can take it down and throw it away.
  • •If they do that, you have to pay them back for the cost of taking it down and destroying it.
  • •This only happens if your sign or ad is against the law in the first place.

Example

You put up a big ad for your store on the side of the road, but it's against the rules because it's too big.

The government can take down your ad and throw it away. Then, you have to pay them for the cost of doing that.
