§ 5300 Outdoor Advertising Business Definition

Key Takeaways

  • •If you put up ads or change ads that can be seen from a highway or freeway, you're in the outdoor advertising business.
  • •If you make or sell a product, you're not in the outdoor advertising business just because you give a sign about your product to a store or put it up at their place.
  • •This law is about who needs to follow rules for outdoor ads near roads.

Example

A soda company gives a sign with their logo to a grocery store to put outside.

The soda company is not doing outdoor advertising business because they're just giving their sign to the store for their own product.
