§ 2997 Psychological Corporation Licensing Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •Only licensed psychologists can be shareholders, directors, or officers in a psychological corporation.
  • •Assistant secretaries and assistant treasurers don’t need to be licensed psychologists.
  • •This rule helps make sure the people running the company know what they’re doing.

Example

A group of psychologists starts a company to offer therapy services.

If they want to be the boss (director) or own part of the company (shareholder), they must have a psychology license. But if someone is just helping with paperwork as an assistant secretary, they don’t need a license.
