§ 2305 Out-Of-State Medical Discipline

Key Takeaways

  • •If a doctor gets in trouble in another state for doing something wrong, California can also punish them for the same thing.
  • •If the federal government punishes a doctor, California can do the same.
  • •The punishment in California will be for 'unprofessional conduct'.

Example

A doctor loses their license in Texas for prescribing too many painkillers without a good reason.

California can also punish that doctor, even if the bad stuff happened in Texas. They might lose their California license too.
