§ 14252 Registrant Penal Rights Preservation

Key Takeaways

  • •This law says that even if someone has other rights or ways to fix a problem, they can still report crimes to the police.
  • •It doesn’t take away the right to go to the police if something bad happens.
  • •If someone breaks a serious law, like stealing or hurting someone, you can still call the cops, no matter what other rules say.

Example

If someone steals your bike, and there’s a rule at your school about handling problems yourself, you can still call the police.

This law means you don’t have to follow only the school’s rules—you can still tell the police about the theft.
