§ 121 License Renewal Grace Period

Key Takeaways

  • •If you renew your work license on time but don't get the new card right away, you can still work legally.
  • •The delay must not be your fault (like if the office is slow).
  • •This rule covers all types of work permits, not just licenses.

Example

A nurse renews her license online before it expires, but the new license card takes 3 weeks to arrive in the mail.

She can keep working as a nurse during those 3 weeks because she did everything on time and the delay is not her fault.
