§ 10519 Restricted Broker License Conditions

The commissioner can give a limited oil, gas, and mineral broker license to someone whose regular license was taken away, but only if they follow special rules like a time limit or posting a bond.

Key Takeaways

  • •The commissioner can issue a restricted broker license after a regular license is revoked.
  • •The restricted license can be limited by time and specific conditions.
  • •The commissioner may require the licensee to post a surety bond.

Example

Joe had his oil broker license revoked for breaking rules. The commissioner lets Joe get a temporary, restricted license so he can finish a few deals, but only if Joe posts a surety bond and follows the conditions set by the commissioner.

Joe can work as a broker again, but only for a set period and under strict rules, like having to put up a bond, because the commissioner gave him a restricted license after his original one was revoked.
